Bonnet is key part of a full valve structure.It is the the cover for the opening in the body.It is connected to the valve body by a threaded, bolted or welded joint.It main function is for lifting the body, sealing and keep pressure un-leaking.
Like valve bodies, bonnets are also designed in different shapes and dimensions.On material, it has same casting material as the body. Normally, our foundry casting material is stainless steel.
The bonnet is a valve part with a stem seal for connecting or supporting the actuator. The bonnet and the valve body may be integral or separate. The bonnet is the top cover. It is a detachable part of the main face of the valve body assembly. It is usually connected with a high-strength bolt and a valve body. It is a part that is under pressure. Therefore, the design conditions of the valve housing are the same.
To remove the trim, it is often necessary to remove the bonnet first. However, some valve structures, such as eccentric rotary valves and sliding gate valves, have a valve cover that is cast with the valve body. In this case, the valve trim can be removed through the end face of the inlet or outlet flange or through the end face of the other separating valve body.
The detachable bonnet has the advantages of easy disassembly and the disadvantage that the bonnet is easy to fall off.
There are two applications for the bonnet.

- Secondly. It is the sealing effect, which has a certain strength to prevent the internal fluid from flowing out.
